Equality State
The state of Wyoming is located in the Mountain West area of the Western region. Prior to European exploration the region was inhabited by the Arapaho, Crow, Lakota, and Shoshone indigenous peoples. The state's largest metropolitan area is that of Cheyenne. The state's official mammal is the American bison.
The state's motto is, "Equal Rights." The state is home to the majestic Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The state is known for its cowboy culture and competitive bull riding.
