The second-largest country in the European Union, primarily located in southwestern Europe. Its territory also includes the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla in Africa. It is the only country in all of Europe to have a physical border with an African country, Morocco.
The Moors from North Africa invaded Spain in 711 AD and the country was under Muslim control for five centuries. The Spanish Civil War Broke Out In 1936. The famous Running of the Bulls is held in Pamplona every year. The country hosted the World Cup in 1982.
