A country in West Africa, on the Atlantic Ocean coastline. Senegal is bordered by Mauritania, Mali, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau. It occupies a long narrow strip of land that surrounds the Gambia River.
There are seven UNESCO World Heritage List sites including the Stone Circles of Senegambia. Gorée Island is one of the most visited attractions in the country. The two biggest exports are peanuts and fish.
