A state in the eastern Mediterranean region. Officially governed by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). It claims the West Bank including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip as its territory, though the entirety of that territory has been under Israeli occupation since 1967.
Trivia
It is known as the Holy Land and is held sacred among Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The word Palestine derives from Philistia, a name given by Greek writers. Palestinian sweet treats are world renowned, normally featuring pastries, sweetened cheeses, nuts and dates.
