US state located in the Western region, and is bordered by five other states. In terms of general population the state is the 9th-least densely populated. The largest metro area is that of Las Vegas Valley. The state's official mammal is the desert bighorn sheep. It was the 36th state to join the Union.
Nevada is home to the Las Vegas Raiders. Casinos and gambling helped to make tourism the state's largest employer. Nevada is one of the world's largest producers of gold. America's largest silver deposit was also found in the state.
