Massachusetts' official state mammals are the Right whale, Morgan horse, and Boston Terrier. It was the 6th state admitted to the Union in 1788,
In 1620 the Pilgrims first landed in Provincetown. John F. Kennedy served as a state senator here before being elected President in 1961.
